MyWeku VOICES is our way of providing you, with a platform to discuss and write about ALL THINGS AFRICAN. We do this by:

Giving you the opportunity to send us original, quirky, interesting and intellectually stimulating articles, reviews, rants and recommendations at voices@myweku.com

Providing you with a place, a destination, an online community that is defined by shared interests.

Even though our readership is diverse in so many ways, MyWeku VOICES allows you and other members to discuss interesting subjects from all four corners of the globe

In the coming months and years some of you will build enduring friendships, make effective use of each others’ professional skills and networks, instigate quarrels and grudges, disagree and argue over a myriad of issues and who knows some may even fall in and out of love.

However, we hope that our unyielding desire to create a worldwide Weku (family/gathering) of independent minded people will spur you on to contribute positively in this community!

This community does not exist in a vacuum. It is made up of the following features:

Profiles: Members can create an account for themselves here. Details such as an individual’s profession, interests and website can all be displayed here.

Groups: Groups are a gathering of members, wire posts and forum posts. Every group includes a place for group information, and the latest group news which can be kept up to date by group administrators. Groups also include a group forum and wire where group members can engage in discussions.

Forum: The Forum component allows groups to create and manage their own forum. Group members can post and reply to topics all from within the group’s page.

Some of you may already have regular spots that you hang out. The most powerful tool that we all use in these spots is our VOICE. Add your voice to this enchanting online village. Join Now!

My Weku was borne out of a strong desire to:
• Unearth positive news, talent and inspirational figures across Africa.
• Provide a hub for discussing and celebrating “All Things African….”

We:
• Scour the corners of Africa to provide authoritative insight into the arts, the literary world, technology, entertainment as well as provide overviews of cultural trends both within Africa and the African Diaspora.
• Provide a platform for talented Africans (wherever they may be) to share their achievements with a wider world and more importantly to serve as inspirational figures for others
• Provide our readers with the opportunity to network with others in our community section and to discuss pertinent issues of the day.

The Name, Strap line and Readership:
The name “My Weku” means “My Family” in Ga (spoken in Accra, Ghana). Our strap line “All things African………..” denotes our aim of celebrating Africa across lots of areas.

Community: MyWeku community allows our readers to:
• Network , connect and interact online
• Create thematic groups based on personal interest
