Background and Objectives:
My Weku was borne out of a strong desire to:
• Unearth positive news, talent and inspirational figures across Africa.
• Provide a hub for discussing and celebrating “All Things African….”
We:
• Scour the corners of Africa to provide authoritative insight into the arts, the literary world, technology, entertainment as well as provide overviews of cultural trends both within Africa and the African Diaspora.
• Provide a platform for talented Africans (wherever they may be) to share their achievements with a wider world and more importantly to serve as inspirational figures for others
• Provide our readers with the opportunity to network with others in our community section and to discuss pertinent issues of the day.
The Name, Strap line and Readership:
The name “My Weku” means “My Family” in Ga (spoken in Accra, Ghana). Our strap line “All things African………..” denotes our aim of celebrating Africa across lots of areas.
